John Trickett is probably the best painter of black labradors in this country. He has a wide following both here and abroad.
Although labradors won Best in Show at Crufts three times in the 1930’s, they haven’t managed to come out on top since. However, the labrador did come first in a recent poll voted by the public for Britain’s top 100 dogs. Ben Fogle presented a television programme on ITV to announce the winners with his black labrador, Storm , by his side.
